Questions people ask before uploading
Twelve answers about formats, timing, privacy and price. The short version of each one, with the detail only where it matters.
What chat exports can I upload?+
WhatsApp: the .zip or .txt that its own export produces. iMessage: a plain-text file you prepare yourself — we do not ship an exporter for it yet. Any media inside a WhatsApp export is stripped in your browser before anything is sent, so photos, videos and voice notes never reach us.
How many messages does Clark need?+
More messages means a stronger signal. Under 300 messages a report is thin, and we show you that before you pay anything. 300 to 1,500 is workable, 1,500 to 8,000 reads well, and past that Clark can see the whole arc. You see the message count and the signal strength right after uploading.
How long does a report take?+
About a minute for under a thousand messages, around three minutes for one to twenty thousand, and up to eight minutes for anything larger. You can close the page — we email you when the report is ready.
Do I need an account?+
You need an email address to receive the report, and it is verified before the report is written. Uploading happens earlier, in the same browser session, before you give us any address at all.
What does it cost?+
The opening and the first half of chapter one are free and need no card. The full report is $9.90, once, for that report. There is no subscription and no tier to pick.
Who can see my report?+
You, and anyone you send the link to. Reports are not listed in any directory, report and share pages are marked noindex, and the link is a 32-character random string that cannot be guessed. Unlocking the report unlocks it for whoever holds the link, so treat the link as the report itself.
Can the other person find out?+
Only if you send them the link. Nothing is shared automatically, and nobody in the conversation is notified that you uploaded it.
Do you train models on my chats?+
No. Your conversation is not used to train any model, ours or a provider’s. The text is sent to the model provider only to write your report, under a contract that forbids training on it.
Is this therapy, or a diagnosis?+
Neither. Clark reports what is in the messages: who proposes, who defers, what changed and when. It does not diagnose you or anyone else, and it is not a substitute for therapy, legal advice or a conversation with the person involved.
Which languages are supported?+
Your chat can be in any language, and quotes keep their original wording instead of being translated. The report language is chosen in the wizard; English is the only output we quality-check today, and every other language is marked beta.
What if the report fails, or I am charged twice?+
You get a full refund without having to ask for one. An unlocked report is otherwise not refundable, because the text has already been delivered in full and stays available to you.
Can I delete everything?+
Yes: any conversation at any time, and your whole account in one click. If you do nothing, conversations are deleted automatically — within 48 hours when no report was ordered, and within 7 days of your most recent report.
